Hi friend,
I’m finally back from Australia. It was a long, long trip. But what bummed me was a never-ending flight.
I haven’t taken a 14h+ flight in 4 years. It’s not fun at all.
Especially on the way back when while getting out of Australia we faced lots and lots of turbulence.
I’m also freshly recovered from my fear of flights that started on May 2018, so you can imagine…
How was my trip?
I’m glad you asked!!!
(lol)
So we had the wedding during the first four days. After which we got back to Sydney, drove to Gold Coast, and then spent time with our family back in Sydney.
I also climbed the Sydney harbour bridge!
Our drive to Gold Coast was a really good one. It was an endless one, actually. Jai (my husband) says it’s not ‘entertaining’ because you’re driving peacefully. Of course, because you don’t have cows and bad drivers barging in like in India.
Time flew by, really.
I’m glad I completely stayed away from social networking platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter. While it’s social networking for most people, its work for me. And I’m working on having a strict boundary on top of this thin line.
I do have a lot of content about Australia coming up on Medium soon. So stay tuned :)
I’m so so kicked to get to work!
But I’m re-strategising a few things.
I am loving my jetlag.
I feel sleepy by 9 pm and wake up at 6 am. It’s a dream because my Q2 goal is to start waking up at 6:30 am.
Because:
I love early mornings
I can get more done
I want to change my morning routine
It was okay to start my workouts by 11:30 am during winter.
I want to work out first, and then work.
I want to do one task a day. So instead of editing, writing, and recording YouTube videos - I want to write one day, edit one day, and so on. It makes me feel less overwhelmed.
I want to stop feeling like time is ticking and the rush to get things done.
I want to stop having morning tea and dipping two atta biscuits in it because it’s getting warm + calories and sugar.
#3 is especially important.
My students in the previous two cohorts of Summit 21 that happened this year spoke a lot about ‘batching’, which is doing one task in bulk. I didn’t realise that so many people benefit from it, because I rarely batch my content.
I tried it with them last month and I was more productive.
I don’t want the pressure to write every day.
At the time of writing this, I’m done writing three articles already. So if I write 2-3 more on Thursday (as scheduled), I’ll get more done with less stress.
Things like email and LinkedIn content will continue, though.
Did you check out my YouTube?
I feel some of you would really enjoy these two videos.
I’ll see you next week :)
Love,
N
I'm so glad you enjoyed your honeymoon. Congratulations on getting married.
As far as batching, I like the idea that it frees one from having to write every day.
What is your batching strategy?
