I’m Getting LASIK Done!

I'm nervous but also excited.

Hi friend,

I write this newsletter again on a Saturday morning after I spent an hour in the morning talking to a writer friend from the States, finished an uninteresting book with a gorgeous cover :/, and had two cups of chai.

I’m getting my LASIK done this Wednesday.

I’m actually excited, you know? Since I was 6, I don’t know what it’s like to wake up and be able to see.

I am pretty much blind without my specks.

We went for a check-up last Wednesday and everything felt wrong. I told my mom I want to go back and this entire thing was a mistake.

But after speaking to the doctor and learning that I can read and watch TV from Day 2 and get back to work after a week, I’m looking forward to the procedure. Also, to take a week off work and rest.

So that’s one life update.

Today, we’ll discuss a topic close to me and move on to books and tweets of the week.

Intention

I think people miss out on this often.

Your intention matters.

You don’t make money because you want to make money. You make money to solve problems or provide a service.

You don’t get anything by ‘wanting’ it, and there’s a thin line between wants and desires - that’s intention.

Personally, I’m very conscious about energy.

Maybe it’s because I make decisions based on intuition and energy matters to me. It’s the reason I don’t speak to many people in real life or cut out everybody online who uses dirty tactics (making people feel inadequate).

And this has helped me.

When I detach from my outcomes and only focus on doing my work because I must put some value out there to help others, it puts a greater purpose behind my writing and the audience feels it too.

It’s the reason I can outsource many things but not my writing.

So next time behind your actions, question your intention. Why are you really doing it?

Not just got big life decisions but for the small actions too. Know what’s driving you to do things, know the intention. It’s easy to overlook and do things being unaware because being surrounded by today’s dopamine-driven notifications makes your senses numb.

But you can’t afford to be numb. You have a brain and such a powerful mind for a reason.

Do you want to put that story on Instagram or is it to prove something to somebody?

Do you want to do [the activity] or are you doing it because others are?

Align your intention to your inner truth and it’ll always lead you to the right path.

Finished ‘The Life-Changing Power of Intuition’ right before writing this.

It was a pretty cover but a sub-average book - do not recommend it at all.

Going to start How to Be a Triangle today and continue reading Think and Grow Rich on the side.

Writing

I have like 5 creator-economy related articles in my drafts right now. I didn’t feel like editing for the last 2 days so drafts it is.

Also, for some reason, my Linkedin posts are doing super well? So I’ll be writing a bit there until my surgery.

Creating

I took out the average views of the last 16 posts in 4 weeks and the average is 136,980 views/post which is really cool (including the one I posted 15h ago which is at 50k).

My mind is brewing a product idea around it. ;)
