Hi friends,
I’m back from a rejuvenating vacation.
After getting stuck in the lower mountains due to heavy snowfall, we finally made it to Chail in Himachal Pradesh.
It wasn’t an easy drive either with the two-day-old snow lying on the sides and card sliding a bit, but we only went when we got clearance, so.
I had such a beautiful time. During the evenings when it was nearly zero degrees, it was so lovely to sip wine while looking at the stars so clearly and so close.
Delhi has made me so used to grey skies and haze, that seeing bright green leaves, blue skies, and stars, felt like a fantasy! Really.
I feel energetic to get back and get going.
I could get kicked out of the job market
I feel my second side hustle is overthinking, lol.
I wrote something on LinkedIn the day before yesterday that got over 88k views. I don’t even know why, it was something very simple.
Then I wrote something yesterday, which got 16k views. Double of my average.
Here are the common themes:
Work-life balance
Health
Rest
Too many people are finding the lack of work-life balance relatable, which is so sad, to think of it.
I’m also sure my old colleagues aren’t appreciating this because of personal incidents I mention (though I don’t name anybody). No wonder nobody from the organisation even hits like, haha.
If I ever want to venture into the job market, my social media can backfire on me BIG time.
No matter what, every organisation portrays itself to be healthy and nobody wants somebody who’s so loud about the dirty stuff that goes on the inside.
But I’ll continue to do this
I’ve said this before too.
One of my motivators to keep working hard is so I never return to the hamster wheel corporate life again.
What’s right is right.
I’d rather earn 1/3rd of my current income than sit for 9 hours a day, deal with office politics, and run after appraisals.
The fact that such posts resonate with others is the SADDEST part.
If spreading knowledge about something important can help improve others, it’s the right thing to do.
What do you think? Hit reply and let me know.
The not-so-serious stuff
I just got in a very serious and strong zone while typing all that that this newsletter bred another LinkedIn post which I just posted :D.
Thats what happens your mind is bubbling with ideas!
On another note, I wrote something that will probably resonate with most of you.
Lastly, Summit 21 cohort 3 starts on Monday.
If you’re into writing, this is truly your last chance to enrol.
You can read more about it here.
I will see you next weekend, friend.
I hope your weekend is spent rejuvenating so you have an energetic week ahead!
Love,
N
It's funny because I wrote about my corporate experience last week and thought the same "I'm bombing my option to go back," but at the same time I thought, "would I want to go back?" The answer is a big fat NO. Loved your newsletter :)
