Hi friend,
While you read this, I’m finally relaxing after the wedding I attended in Sydney, Australia.
But I’m here to talk about something important.
First, I don’t take credit for this brilliant headline. My student from Summit 21’s cohort 6, Mandeep Lakra, said this in one of our calls a few weeks ago. And man, how everyone was shaken.
He also said that he read this somewhere, so he didn’t take credit for it either.
Here’s why it shook us.
One of our cohort members (who I won’t name out of respect) was grieving the death of her mother. And that’s when Mandeep mentioned this trait about negativity - it cannot sustain momentum.
Say you’re having a bad day.
You go out to the gym. You decide to work from a cafe. You catch up with a friend.
By the end of it, you’ll feel better. Because negativity makes you spiral down when you’re not moving. Once you start, it loses its power to take over you.
This made everyone go whoaaaaaa
I know, lol.
And this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t grieve (in this case) or feel sad in general. It just means that the next time you’re spiralling down, consider moving. Pursuing a hobby, reading, heading out, doing something you like - and negativity won’t be able to overpower you.
Did this move you too?
Let me know in the comments:
Also, Mandeep has his newsletter too. Here’s the link to check it out.
I hope you enjoyed this.
While I’m away, I still have
articles on Medium going out every alternate day
weekly Side Hustle Saturdays newsletter
a weekly video on YouTube
And if I have the urge to say something, I’ll speak about it on LinkedIn, as usual. Haha.
But don’t worry, I’m all away from work and hopefully enjoying some fries while you read this.
Love,
N
Indeed, Your statement is accurate. I, too, found myself engulfed in negativity for a few days, as I struggled to achieve certain goals. However, as soon as I began to immerse myself in reading, I was able to break free from that negative cycle.
These words came back to me today when I needed them. Such wonderful is life. Thanks, N
