Hi friend,
It’s good to get back to typing this again. I missed last week because I was travelling to Calicut. And to be honest, also because I had a sense of overwhelm engulf me.
I’ve been feeling this way since I got back from my vacation in July.
I’m not upset about feeling this way, because I see a big strength in failures and general lows of life. They help you:
figure out what isn’t working out
realise that success is impermanent
work on solutions to make things work
And this discomfort helps you work harder.
I think I’ve been feeling a bit stuck at work.
My course Summit 21 is working out alright.
Medium algo is screwed (but I’m ok with it). I’m only okay with it after a month of sulking because I realised that writing on Medium takes most of my energy but amounts to a low proportion of my income.
So instead I should double down on Twitter and LinkedIn because that’s where my personal brand and business grows. That being said, I’ll repurpose content for Medium.
Okay, I don’t want to bore you with my shop talk.
I also met Ankur Warikoo on Tuesday for breakfast. I whined about my problems with him, carefully noted down solutions, and together we crafted a strategy that can work for two years.
I don’t know if you resonate with this, but I’m somebody who’s not always okay with asking for help. I feel shy and nervous about wasting the other person’s time.
I’ve now realised that asking for help doesn’t make you weak.
Definitely doesn’t make you ‘less’.
It’s crucial for growth.
By the time you read this, I’ll be on my way to my village after 3 years. It’s near the India-Pakistan border and my grandparents stay there.
I’m excited for my husband Jai to see the place I’ve spent all my winter vacations in, and sometimes summers too. To eat fruit and vegetables that are grown at home. I don’t know how he’ll find it, but I hope he finds it as nourishing for the soul as I do.
Also, there’ll be love.
And love is the best food for the soul, isn’t it?
Speak to you next week.
Love,
N
PS: Only 50% of seats are left for Summit 21. Sign up here.
Excellent read ! Have a great time at Village.
1 Takeaway - To focus on Twitter and LinkedIn for personal brand.
1 Question - Will you share the 2-year strategy process (steps) that you came up with Ankur Warikoo?
Thanks for sharing your insights.
