If you’ve been around my writing for a while, you’d know that my perspective about things (even as tangible as money) has an element of spirituality in it. That’s because I deeply believe that the consequences of what happened around us come from the energy of our thoughts. Let me know how you find this post, and if you could resonate with it too.
You’ve waited all your life after your education to make money. Earning big bucks has always been an exciting goal for you. It’s the reason you went to certain universities so their name can lead you to better opportunities.
When you work, you realise it's a long ladder to climb. Elders around you tell you that this is just how it is. Your grandfather worked really hard to support his large family. Your father is close to retirement and has worked for decades to make your family comfortable.
How do you have the audacity to complain? This is just how it is. Or so we’re made to think so.
It’s difficult, I feel you. We are in an economy where gratification is at our fingertips. We pay for Uber and food deliveries and Amazon orders. Maybe we wouldn’t have if these things weren't so convenient.
Still, you constantly feel that your income isn’t enough to live the life you want to live. There’s only so much you can save and invest in and follow all other financial rules.
I have been where you are because this is the mentality we are all conditioned to live with. But things change when you change your mindset. When there’s a change in the inner environment, there are changes in the outer environment.
I won’t tell you to be optimistic all the time, but let me take you through a journey that can help you snap out of the situation you’ve been feeling lately.
Discover and acknowledge your love
Forget everything you’ve been told about money. Yes, even from your loved ones who genuinely care about you and want the best for you. Our family worked tirelessly and we should be so grateful for how far we’ve come because of them, but times have also changed.
Could you imagine a touch screen phone 20 years ago? And now, can you imagine life without it and all the things it brings to you? There has been a massive fundamental change, so why are we still adhering to norms which are 50 years old?
Unlearn all that they have taught you about money. That its evil, and you have to do something dirty to get a lot of money. That’s just a way to make you feel better that it’s okay to settle for a life on a lower scale than your desires.
I worked before and after my corporate job working hours on my writing side hustle. I earned money more than I imagined by improving my craft and getting a few but high-quality clients on board. On April 01, 2021, I quit my job to become a full-time writer.
Did I do anything evil? No. Did I make more money than I would have in another 3 years of working in a corporate? Yes. Does my life have a better meaning? Hell yes!
“The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat.” — Napoleon Hill
Once you get rid of these thoughts, you have cultivated a mindset shift.
Start your relationship afresh, forgive for past mistakes
Those billionaires you hate on just because they’re billionaires, stop it. Your friends who’re doing better than you, be happy for them. Sudden viral sensations make you feel jealous, know that sudden has years of hard work behind it.
Get rid of negative thoughts you’ve had earlier. I won’t give any spiritual reason behind this, but just that these thoughts are useless. They don’t help you in any way. The energy that you’re expending can be used elsewhere to build something great.
Now, you have to believe that you can attain wealth.
“I always knew I was going to be rich. I don’t think I ever doubted it for a minute.”— Warren Buffet
Okay let me tell you a simple example of how powerful beliefs can be and how can they help.
I mostly get rejected on Upwork. I have worked with very few clients and my profile doesn’t have low-paying gigs.
I don’t want 10 low-paying gigs, I’d rather have 3 high-paying gigs with respectful clients with who I can learn from and develop a relationship with.
I got a gig for a certain $3-digit amount. I upped it by 80% by stating the value I will provide. It got accepted without further negotiations.
I believed that I can and that I’m worth it.
You need to value yourself and feel you’re worth the value you want to attain. And if you’re not there yet, that’s perfectly fine, you can work towards being valuable so you can get paid to add value to somebody else.
A study on measuring the impact of confidence and job interviews states that candidates high in self-confidence have a significant impact on all recruiters. They receive more offers, better chances of a second interview and a better position in the hierarchy. The reason for this stated is:
The importance of self-confidence, is explained by the fact that as a characteristic, may be linked to qualities such as initiative, guidance, motivation, administration, persuasion, orientation in achieving objectives, elements that are encountered in the field of leaders in the world of business.
Personally, I have had a long battle with low-self esteem and affirmations have helped me. You can also steal some of my affirmations, but they too only work when you believe in them.
I attract unlimited income from unlimited sources.I am happy and grateful for my multiple sources of income.I am open and receptive to new sources of income.
It’s not sparks all the time, but appreciate it each day anyway
Now that you’ve discovered that you can love money and it doesn’t make you an evil person and have actively worked towards making your relationship work, it’s time to know the brutal truth.
On some days, it doesn’t workout.
Each relationship has disagreements, long periods of silence, and a sudden gush of love. By spending a lot of time together, it may get boring too. But appreciate this relationship each day, for it gives you many benefits you otherwise overlook. Don’t make this an experience where you realise the value only when you’re left empty.
“What you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it. Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life.” — Oprah Winfrey
The sky is the limit, which means there's no limit. Don’t look left or right because this is your relationship and your journey alone. There will be ups and downs but each downfall will teach you a lesson which will help you better the relationship.
Appreciate it each day regardless of how the day is or how its going between you two because it’s an old secret ingredient of happy relationships.
Finally
Nobody said it will be easy, but it's still worth it. They say when you’re in love, everything feels great. You feel happier, you’re better at work, you are more enthusiastic to take life in your own hands.
We can all have money if we believe that it’s not just for evil. If we believe that we need money, we will always focus on the lack of money we have by expressing the need. If we acknowledge that there’s enough money for all of us to thrive, we can.
If you want to have the results only 5% have, you must be willing to do and think like only 5% do and think.” Robin Sharma
Only a few acknowledge this, and only a few thrive. Our negative beliefs about money make us tag this specific few as outliers or lucky people. But they’re just people who fell in love with money, their work, themselves, and their dreams.
Love does win at the end of the day, doesn’t it?
Why only coorelated it with "love"?i mean in today's time why it only surrounds around these relationships love n all?
