Hi friend,
I hope you’re doing well.
I write this newsletter on a very stress-free Saturday morning, haha. I say that because I’m done with all work for October and I’m going to sit back and relax :)
However, my morning started with a heavy heart as I was reading Aanchal Malhotra’s new book In the Language of Remembering: The Inheritance of Partition. It is a harrowing read about the real stories of migration between India and Pakistan.
I had a sinking heart because my grandparents, too, migrated from Pakistan. And when I fit them into these stories I cannot imagine the sense of despair and displacement they must’ve felt.
The strange thing is everyone thought it was temporary. And they lost everything when they realised it isn’t.
Imagine realising one day that you’ve lost everything your family has built.
Okay, let’s get back to this newsletter. My video editor Arpit keeps telling me that I have to stop going all around the place in my YouTube videos and should stick to what I’m talking about.
So now I shall.
I’m writing this to you to add a short note about our favourite fear,
“What will people say?”
What will people say if you:
Do something new
Not score as well in exams
Do not fit people’s conventional metric of success
What will people say if you
Start writing on LinkedIn
Start a YouTube channel
Speak your thoughts on Instagram
Put photos with your newly coloured green hair
In a rut of what people will say, have you forgotten that
You have one life
Your metric of success can be different
Being happy can have a different meaning for you
And that’s fine.
I hope you find your metric of success and happiness and shamelessly follow it without caring about what will others think.
Plus, people are too busy thinking about themselves to think of you.
It’s just how the world is, silly. We’re a bit too narcissistic that way.
PS: I just got inspired and created a LinkedIn post about the same lol.

Being happy can have a different meaning for you
Hey Niharikaa! Sunny here.
I just went through your article.
Good job. Really.
Though, there is one odd thing which I would like to address:
Why is there a "sad" emoji after the statement "It really encourages me to give in my best and create valuable content.", in the section titled "YouTube"?
